We’re always looking for ways to thoughtfully improve our meals while keeping the experience familiar for Lyka pups. As part of this, we’ve made an update to our Turkey Bowl recipe by adding pork liver, pork heart, pork kidney, and apple fibre.
These ingredients have been chosen for their nutritional benefits and to support our whole-food approach to fresh dog food. The Turkey Bowl remains complete and balanced, with the same levels of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
What’s changing?
We’ve added four new whole-food ingredients to our Turkey Bowl:
- Pork liver
- Pork heart
- Pork kidney
- Apple fibre
Turkey remains a core protein in the recipe, and the bowl continues to be made with high-quality, human-grade ingredients.
With the inclusion of these organ meats, you may notice a darker colour with the Turkey meal, along with a richer, meatier aroma that pups will love. Natural variation can already occur between batches, and this update is not expected to dramatically change your pup’s mealtime experience.
Why we’re making this update
This update allows us to include a broader range of animal-based ingredients, including nutrient-rich organ meats., while keeping the meal familiar, nourishing, and balanced.
Organ meats like pork liver, heart and kidney are naturally rich in important nutrients that can support your dog’s overall wellbeing. They’re commonly valued in canine nutrition as part of a whole-animal approach to feeding.
Apple fibre helps support healthy digestion and consistent, regular stools. We started rolling this out in our other meals earlier this year.
Benefits of the new ingredients
Pork liver contributes a broad range of micronutrients, including vitamin A, B vitamins, iron, copper, and zinc, which support your pup’s immune function, vision, and healthy skin and coat.
Pork heart is a muscle meat that provides high-quality protein and naturally occurring nutrients such as taurine, CoQ10, and B vitamins to support muscle function.
Pork kidney provides high-quality protein and nutrients such as B vitamins, selenium, and iron to support sustained energy.
As always, every ingredient is selected with quality, safety, and nutritional value in mind.
