Lyka offers both grain-free recipes (Chicken, Beef, Kangaroo) and recipes with ancient grains (Turkey, Lamb).
When we do include grains, we choose quinoa, which is a gluten-free, pseudo-seed rich in fibre and phytonutrients. Unlike typical pet foods and kibble that contain up to 50% grains or legumes, our recipes include a maximum of only 3% of these ingredients.
Lyka also excludes the use of legumes such as lentils, chickpeas, and peas, which an FDA report has linked to canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a serious heart condition.
Instead, Lyka meals feature low glycemic index carbohydrates like vegetables that provide a steady energy release and deliver a wide range of essential micronutrients.
